Photo exhibition "Pure Sang" of Rebekka Vanderhaeghen.
What makes the photo series "Pure Sang" of Rebekka Vanderhaeghen so poetic, is the search for the boundary between human purity and fragility. The body attracts the attention and the dark side of life is depicted in a very subtle manner, both fragile and lugubrious. Rebekka has sought a balance between the two of them.
The fragile, almost magical white body in contrast with the red blood shows the vulnerability in every picture. Death and life as two opponents. A modern Madonna, stigmata, or any other religious form have influenced the work of Rebekka. Her compositions are symbols of pain. These are like pictures of sculpted women, a woman depicted as in a painting.
Rebekka was selected with this work for the Canvascollection 2010.
Some early available prints of the new series "Beautiful" will be shown for the first time.
