Art PC Kokusui(Black Sea)

The PC case in the KOKUSUI series is made of Japanese red judas tree grown in Hokkaido that has been set out to dry naturally over 10 years. The lacquer finish and carving are masterfully done by young artist and Kanazawa resident Seiichiro Fujino. The entire PC is shaped with carving techniques to produce distinctive smooth curves. The tamenuri (“layered lacquer”) technique used involves applying multiple layers of shuai (translucent red) lacquer. The hazy pattern of the silver leaf and red lacquer applied underneath can be discerned through the translucent shuai.
